The rebuild of MGG 134 is progressing. A 1980's Nissan engine is going to be fitted as the power unit. Measurements indicate that it will fit with modifications to the engine mounting.
Engine specs: 6 cylinder in-line, single chain driven OHC, capacity 2.6 litres, 5 speed gearbox, block and head are cast iron/steel and not aluminium and bhp is unknown. The weight is probably not as heavy as a Lagonda unit but close.
Should anyone consider fitting a Nissan 2.6 engine to a Post War Lagonda needing a replacement unit I can be contacted on HTa108@aol.com for advice. I had no real difficulty installing the Nissan engine. The normal modifications apply of course to engine mountings, propshaft, instrumentation, polarity change(alternator) etc. Most alterations worked out very well.
